Today, I’d like to share my “Career Dream Board” with you. I completed it, two or three months ago and it’s been hanging in my home-office ever since. I find that looking at it, keeps me inspired on a daily basis by connecting me to what it is I want to create and experience in my life. Love that! I am toying with the idea of creating a smaller, more focused one in the near future. I’ll keep you posted!
If you’re interested in creating your own dream board, this article at “The Growing Life” is sure to inspire you to get started!
If you fancy making a Virtual Dream Board as opposed to a physical one, the “Morning Coach” site offers a free opportunity to do just that! (BTW, really get a kick out of listening to the Morning Coach podcasts-if you haven’t experienced this yet, treat yourself!)
.Have you ever created a dream board/vision board? If so, I’d love to see it!
UPDATE May 2009:

I believe inspiration in the present moment borders the dream life that itself is boundless. Through art one can capture a cross section of the a boundless dream life. Dreams can tell us rich information about where one is from and where one is headed.
I am engaged in a writing project that draws from past experiences. This initiation opens me to be informed by a stream of thought life that is rejuvenated by dreams. The world of dreams sometimes invoke symbols and sometimes encourage a venture into an open space where I can drop doubts and defenses and play in a waking dream.
Zak,
What an inspiring comment..So true that dreams can allow us a safe, open space to drop doubts and imagine possibilities.
Thank you so much for taking time out to write this.
My old friends are always amazed at my memory of past events in our lives. There is a saying I read recently in a book I was reeading, ” I may not remember, but I never forget.” There is a significance to every moment I recall, at least for me.
I am a daydreamer with a great imagination. I can make up stories about people I see in everyday life. I’m always curious in the grocery line when i peruse someone elses cart contents and try to figure what they are planning to cook.
As far as dreaming in reality, I feel my choices are somewhat limited now due to age and the accompanying handicaps. I would love to travel more, visit Hawaii again, go to Ireland and Italy, learn more Spanish. The one big dream would be to turn back the clock for a day and spend a day with my *kids* when they were so young that they thought I knew everything, give them a bath, and tuck them in. I am going to have that experience soon when the Grand Baby comes along.
All of my dreams are acheivable and realistic. I am just so jaded by the past sometimes that I know life as you plan it can turn on a dime.
My unconcious dreams are sometimes of the past, and very soothing. Last summer when i broke my leg and felt like my life as it was had ended, I slipped several times into a happy moment in my life that I thought would never end. It was almost magical, like I was taken back to a time when I felt safe and very loved. It was my place to go when I was afraid.
Tessa,
Love the dream board! I have to make one. I have been cutting out clips for years and they are just in a pile. What good is that? I really like yours. I need to get to mine. If anything it is 1.) telling the universe what you want, 2.) a constand reminder of what you want and who you are, and 3.) constant doses of positivity and reminders to focus.
Thanks!
Abby
Hi Leslie!
I love the way you connected how caring for your Grand Baby will give you a chance to re-experience the magic and joy of caring for your now grown children. That’s pretty heady stuff!
Dear Abby (that’s always so fun to write/say!tehe)
Whee!! So pleased that you stopped by! Thanks for your compliment w/ RE to my dream board. I’m considering making a new one but may play around with the Morning Coach site’s online creation tool for fun!
Too funny what you shared about how you’ve collected clippings for years but they remain in a pile! It’s never too late though to create your fabulous Dream Board! I find the creation process in which you are essentially asking yourself, “What is it I want in my life?” extremely valuable too.

hi petrnotial!
i love that you’re feeling inspired & i hope you’ll share your dream board progress with us. I’d love to see it
That’s a beauty! We used to do this kind of thing when we were involved in network marketing a few years ago – it’s perhaps one of the best things to come out of the experience and I’m looking around my office now, wondering why on earth I don’t have one up anymore…
Great stuff! Kind regards, Dan
Thanks so much for the kind words, Dan!
It sounds like you may noodling around with the idea of creating a new Vision Board, eh? {grin} So glad that you enjoyed the entry, and do drop by any time.
Warmly,
Tessa
Hi Tessa! I actually have made my dream board and things are coming right along
I made it one night shortly after reading your blog and then watching Oprah with Cheryl, Louise Hay, and Martha Beck on it. I thought, something is telling me I must make this board! I love it. I never realized how much certain things were important to me until I really pieced it together. Now you can tell a lot about me from looking at it. It’s like my soul on a big board, my hopes, dreams, what’s important, what I want to accomplish, where I want to live, etc. It’s great!
Thanks for the inspiration
Abs
Abs-that’s so exciting that you created your own dream board! Way to go with following through on the inspiration you received.
If you feel comfortable sharing it, I’d love to see it! I could even post it here for all to see & celebrate-that is only if you feel inspired to Eshare!
Great thing to do. Got another idea for you. Make a movie or a moving, music-making powerpoint presentation with the same things plus affirmations. I’m going to do that. Maybe today.
Maia~ That’s a great idea-love it!! Can’t wait to see.
